Video Presentation on Hostile Architecture

A brief video on my work in presentation design. The presentation was designed for a course I took at IDEO U called, "From Ideas to Action". We had to pick a challenge of our choosing, iterate (converge thinking), and test our assumptions through prototyping. Once when we have designed a rough prototype, we are to test it out with the public and then reiterate (diverge thinking). The challenge I chose to tackle was Homelessness and Climate Change. Understandably, these are Wicked Problems, meaning they are highly difficult or even impossible to solve. But what came from researching the problem, I came across 'Hostile Architecture,' where I questioned a broader issue: How Might We co-exist while remaining cognizant of public safety and security. According to Wikipedia, Hostile Architecture is an urban-design strategy that uses elements of the built environment — typically targeting people who use or rely on public spaces more than others — to purposefully guide or restrict behavior on youth, poor, and homeless people. I decided to design a presentation based on the research that I found and chose certain designs (prototypes) that were cognizant of climate impact.
