Walkway Moncloa

  • Guillermo Jurado

Above all the national highways, the A-6 road is the one that presents a bigger ambiguity in its origin due to its pedestrian nature. It lies on top of Moncloa’s Transport Hub and the Metro, working as a continuous obstacle where connections are restricted to few places. Walkway Moncloa resolves these discontinuities creating coexistence between car and pedestrian avoiding the existing breach. The topographic structure spans an area over 32,000m² that citizens could either cross or remain in it. These graphic strategies helped me unify the main idea of the project. A 3D model illustrates where the parks mix the surface and join the city through textures and colours. Together they become a place to stay, to meet up and to play.
