“The old maxim ‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead’ is unfortunate.”    Matthew Walker in his book ‘Why We Sleep’.  Sleep is the most effective thing we can do to reset our brain and body's health each day. Unfortunately, all of the dangers caused by a lack of sleep have not been clearly telegraphed to the public. Wind Down aims to change this, reverse our neglect of sleep and revise our outlook on sleep, leading to a more fulfilling and healthy lifestyle. Many facets of our modern lives have contributed to ‘catastrophic sleep-loss epidemic’ with two-thirds of adults failing to obtain the recommended average hours of sleep each night. While a lack of sleep contributes to all major mental health conditions including depression and anxiety, sufficient sleep can provide a chemical brain bath that soothes painful memories and melds past and present knowledge, inspiring creativity. It improves brain functions, increasing our ability to learn and our productivity, as well as our immune system, preventing sickness and infection. A lack of sleep can lead to a host of potentially fatal diseases and mental disorders, leaving no aspect of our biology unscathed. With an aim to revoke this, Wind Down helps you better understand your sleep patterns.
