Although a project that was dropped when we pitched it, i felt it is all the more relevant You can’t be what you can’t see, This is a project to highlight the people of colour working within the industry. The goal would be to create a starting point of observing who exactly works in advertising. See the people behind these big advertising agencies and allowing the next generation to potentially see themselves in those roles. Although some agencies may need this opportunity to self reflect why is there a lack of people of colour within our agency in a city where almost half the population is minorities. Data state there are 44% ethnic minorities in London and less then 13% in industry. since 2012 it was 5% and over the course of 8 years it has only increased by 1% per year despite conversations little action implemented. We envisioned billboards like Steve Mcqueen the Director who showed various classrooms of children, but highlighting the people that actually in the creative industries. we only see the brands, we do not see the humans behind them.
