Doja Cat Planet Her

Earth is so 2020. So when it came time for Doja Cat to release her album Planet Her, the only way to go was galactic. Working closely with Sony Music, we crafted a multi-phase and multi-planetary adventure aboard Doja’s spaceline InterstellHER Air. In the run up to Planet Her’s launch, fans were allocated a seat based on how much they listen to Doja on Spotify, with the most committed put in first class (‘So High’) and business class (‘Boss Bitch’) and the less committed in cargo hold (‘Bottom Bitch’). Fans could select their (emotional) baggage before receiving their holographic boarding pass and custom playlist to keep them entertained while they wait for Planet Her to drop. A month later and a day before release visitors flocked to our site for take off. After scanning their pass, they were blasted through space at lightspeed through an interactive wormhole before finally arriving at the fabled Planet Her. Here they were treated to exclusive, never-before-heard snippets of tracks from the new album as they hovered above the planet’s surface, with landscapes inspired by Doja’s ‘Kiss Me More’ music video. This creative technology-led project made use of our expertise from WebGL animations to 3D modelling, from sound to design. Fan’s 3D passes could be used at both the ‘booking’ and the ‘flight’ stage of the experience to add continuity. Visit Planet Her was a success on all accounts, becoming one of the most signed-up-to experiences we’ve made with Sony and was awarded FWA SITE OF THE DAY. It also gained substantial engagement on Twitter from ‘THE VISUALS MY GOD’ to ‘WHOS IN SO HIGH WITH ME!!!’
