Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design is ranked as one of the top schools of art and design in the UK with an outstanding reputation in teaching, practice and research. Within the remit of our wider rebranding for the University of Dundee, of which the art school is an integral part, we created a differentiated visual identity for the institution — recognisably part of the overall system but distinctive enough to communicate effectively with a specific arts focussed audience.

We established a visual system with no superfluous elements. Each application is built using a custom typeface and photography, with students' work featuring heavily throughout. We partnered with typographer Leo Philp and photographer Tommy Ga-Ken Wan.
The art school’s annual degree show is highlight of Dundee’s cultural calendar. Over a period of ten days it attracts more than 15,000 visitors and generates in excess of £1.5 million for the local economy. We developed a suite of promotional materials for the event, giving every individual student the opportunity to showcase a single piece of work.
"The rebrand is a perfect blanket representation of Dundee University and how DJCAD as a school fits within it. The inclusion of the DJCAD Pantone colour makes us distinctive and stand out, especially when it comes to the amazing colour contrast in the Lookbook, which really encapsulates DJCAD and what we're all about!"
