The first part of the final major project brief. The aim was to take a subject of interest and to create a research project around it. Weather it be an A-Z, a list or a timeline, it was impotant to incorprate these ideas into the first and second half of the project brief.
The 39 paged digital tabloid explores the history of the 20th century, from 1910 - 1990, in a simplified format. Each section, from the typography to the colours used, is a reflection of the unique, individual look of each decade.
Talking about the 20th century in general is a broad subject itself, so I decided to scale to down to 5 categories; fashion, art, music, architecture and typography. Using a music genre that was popular at the time as a starting point, it was important to emphasize the look and feel of each decade in my own interpretation.
