For my Final Major Project I explore the intersections between escapism and mental health. This autobiographical zine depicts the romanticising of everyday essential items and food, whilst highlighting the flaws in such experiences. Stylistically, this embraces both the combination of hyper-detailed realism and comic-styled illustrations, simultaneously depicting reality and fantasy. This zine binds together some text, risograph and lino print work. My vision is to further develop this in creating a bi-annual magazine or zine called 'Escapist' exploring the multifaceted aspects of escapism.
