Flint

An enduring aggregate of marble cut-offs and mortar, terrazzo is more commonly used for flooring and wall surfaces than furniture. Joyce Wang Studio explored the possibilities of this material to form a collection of sculptural home objects, lighting and furniture titled Flint. The studio’s signature metalwork detailing is revealed in stroke and cross joints in each of the pieces, and so the visual identity draws from this with touches of brass foiling across a branded look book, and printed ephemera. For the summer launch, ice cream bowls were also produced and displayed in a travelling terrazzo ice cream cart in Hong Kong and London.
