I Don't Need Any Help

The brief for this project outlined creating a book based on a conversation; I wanted to create an illustrated book based on a character suffering from depression and anxiety and the daily conversations they have with them-self. Each turn of the page reveals more of the stages of their mental illness; the colour draining from them until they lose colour completely, the thoughts that take over and the depression visibly creeping in until the protagonist is entirely consumed. This work is very personal and I feel my best work comes from projects I can emotionally connect with. As well as traditional illustration and image making, this book demonstrates book binding techniques and layout.
