Celebrating Joe Hertz’ new album with an Instagram lens which transports fans into an immersive anime world. To launch Joe Hertz’ soulful 2020 album ‘Current Blues’, we’ve created an Instagram lens which makes fans part of his beautiful, illustrated world. Using their front-facing camera, fans see the contours of their faces animated in a Japanese block-print style, while their backdrops are exchanged for a shimmering orange sky. With their rear-facing cameras, fans are able to render their surrounding environment as a psychedelic manga world. Hertz provided the soundtrack to the lens, with changes in the music prompting the illustration to subtly react, creating an experience with the same understated beauty as the music which inspired it.
