In preparation for postgraduate life, one of my final year projects focused on the development of self-promotional and branding materials. This demonstrated the importance of self-promotion and how I present myself to potential employers and clients as a UI designer. The quality of my portfolio, awareness of materials and production techniques used in industry is also in itself a statement for employability. This project offered the chance to look in great detail at what goes into other designers self-promotional material and gives insight into the level of detail needed to find the right clients and the right work for me. This was also a good chance to look at current relevant job vacancies to see what potential employers/clients expect from junior UI designers in the current climate. Using gathered information and research to give context to design decisions made arriving at my final solutions for this project, I was able to product promotional material such as a CV, business cards, portfolio and website adhering to my consistent and successful brand.
