Paint a Boogie

  • Megan Fry

A proposal for a new way to destress and reconnect with our creative side in a fearless and explorative way. Often during deadlines, we can find ourselves over absorbed into our work and therefore exclude the world around us. We play less and focus more on perfection and achievement, rather than creating for the sake of enjoyment. Paint a Boogie offers an opportunity of release by laying out paper and letting your feet create an unexpected masterpiece with the help from some paint, good music and a pal/s. Doing this event encourages a sense of vulnerability and self-awareness by ignoring our image or purpose for the sake of letting go and being present. After having had a boogie, UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson officially announced a lockdown for the foreseeable future. While our time at University may have been cut short, we left Falmouth having done something that we loved in a place that will always remind us of being on stage, where we danced for the sake of being imperfectly us.
