Engaging Healthcare Professionals with Pfizer’s Interactive Installations

Adapting to a New Era of Engagement

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Pfizer sought innovative ways to engage healthcare professionals with their latest medical devices and treatments. As in-person interactions were limited, the challenge was to create physical installations that could be navigated safely and effectively. The solution involved shifting much of the interaction to mobile devices, allowing users to scan QR codes with their phones—a method that has since become standard but was quite innovative at the time.
From Touchscreens to Mobile Integration

Designing these installations required a careful balance between usability and safety. Initially, the focus was on touchscreens. Still, the lingering effects of the pandemic prompted a pivot towards mobile-first interactions. By integrating QR codes and mobile navigation, we ensured that healthcare professionals could still explore Pfizer’s offerings without physical contact, maintaining engagement while prioritising health and safety.
Realising the Vision in Real Life

Once restrictions eased, seeing the installations come to life in real-world spaces was gratifying. Healthcare professionals eagerly interacted with the technology, demonstrating that the pivot to mobile devices had been both timely and effective. The success of these installations highlighted the power of adaptive design and the importance of innovative thinking in overcoming challenges posed by the pandemic.
