Poptails by LAPP | Cocktail Sorbets

Poptails by LAPP are the leading brand of gourmet alcoholic sorbets, called Poptails, made exclusively with fruit and alcohol. A Poptail is the meeting point between a sorbet and a cocktail. Literally, 'Poptail' is the contraction of POPsicle and cockTAIL. LAPP retails in both French and UK markets, so all assets were created in both languages. LAPP's quirky, retro branding appeals to it's target demographic of young, trend driven women. When I arrived at the brand they'd already carved out their niche in the sector with their 'pop' aesthetic, so I worked on updating and streamlining their branding. I designed a logomark in a 'tongue' shape (since LAPP is an onomatopoeia of a licking sound) and a new suite of patterns for use across multiple touchpoints. I also created a new set of brand guidelines and updated their colour palette to reflect their vibrant, modern aesthetic.
During my time at LAPP I curated the content for their social media. I created animated videos, patterns, photography and illustrations in colour-coded themes. Our Instagram following increased from 7K to 11K+ followers in a year (and is still growing handsomely).
In the Summer of 2019, LAPP collaborated with renowned Cava brand Freixenet to create the Sangria Blanca Poptail. The packaging aimed to evoke holidaying in the Riviera, it's the perfect refreshing summer treat. The colour palette reflects the freshness of the flavour, the white adding to this crisp effect. We celebrated the launch of the Poptail at the Freixenet X LAPP launch party in 2019.
The latest edition to the non-alcoholic organic range, the Orange Poptail combines carrot, orange and ginger for a healthy, guilt-free treat. I illustrated the pattern to evoke organic purity whilst hinting at the unconventional carrot ingredient. The Orange Poptail is due to be released in the Summer of 2020.
