SkyBound Manager

Harnessing drone technology for
public safety

Challenge
In helicopter rescue missions, the critical factor
is time. Recognising this urgency, SkyBound are on a mission to improve rescue operations by building a reliable and efficient drone response network across the UK. SkyBound Manager is to be the dashboard of all operations, housing functionality from asset management, infrastructure support,
and comprehensive performance monitoring,
both qualitatively and quantitatively.
Process
Working to an agile framework we kicked off the design process by developing user personas — an insightful initiative that encourages all contributors and stakeholders to stay grounded in the needs and expectations of real-life profiles. In the following months I collaborated with the SkyBound team to build a comprehensive UI component library that will be used as a shared resource for this ambitious platform. Firmly rooted in a set of user-centric design principles, the library encourages the development of an accessible product that not only provides real-time feedback and predictive guidance but also fosters deliberate action and precision for safe, rapid, and effective drone rescue missions.
Solution
Currently still in the works, SkyBound Manager is a digital platform to be used by the internal SkyBound team and soon enough, UK emergency service providers. The platform allows users to initiate, observe, and assess drone missions, monitor and manage mission flights, manage accounts, and oversee the entire Emergency Drone Network.
