The Corniche by St James, Berkeley Group
Art consultancy project by Georgina Angless created for The Corniche, a St James development.
The Corniche by St James is a luxurious riverside residential development in London, marrying outstanding design with extraordinary views to create one of the city’s most enviable living destinations.
Working closely with the St James prinicple interior designer and project managers to commission, create and install a collection of intricate metal art and high-end sculpture for the concierge area and lap pool.
Inspired by the flowing curves of the development’s riverside locale for inspiration. Artist, Joe Owens was commissioned to develop an elegant mark making pattern that reflects the form of the nearby River Thames. Briefed to create a piece that was both functional and a stunning focal point for residents, the pattern was etched onto a series of metal fins, providing an elegant design feature and a statement piece for the concierge area that is exclusively unique to this site
For the lap pool, artist Ian Turnock was commissioned to create a bespoke metal sculpture. Typical of Ian’s iconic style, the work reflects the form and movement found in the impermanence of nature. Working with marine grade steel, the piece effortlessly enhances the marine inspired nuances of the development and compliments the luxurious materials used throughout the design.
