As Head of Marketing at The Dots, I worked with my team to organise and manage The Dots Portfolio Masterclass events each month. These were hosted at leading creative offices and locations across London, including Vice, Pentagram, Google and BBH. For each event we invited 10-15 mentors who were leaders in their creative field and curated up to 80 attendees from hundreds of applications. At the beginning of each event, I would give an introductory presentation and short synopsis on each mentor to ensure attendees chose the most relevant people with whom to share their portfolio. It was also an opportunity to introduce our key sponsors Much like professional speed-dating, for each 20-minute round, up to 5 creatives would sit with each mentor and take it in turns to present their portfolio, receiving personal feedback from the mentor. At the end of every event, several attendees were called back for interview based on what the mentor had seen from them on the night. I secured 6-12 month partnerships for this event series, working with relevant brands who could benefit from being in front of such a tailored audience of engaged creatives - senior, mid-level and junior. Key partners included Squarespace, MOO and Shutterstock, as well as industry specific partners per event.
