DBA Design Effectiveness Winner 2022 – Bronze Award
Based in Jersey, Shorts Boy Distillery needed a brand identity and packaging design for their seaweed-infused golden rum that would capture the dramatic beauty of Jersey’s intertidal zone and appeal to the 25+ consumer who seeks unconventional brands and escapism.
After a brand strategy workshop with the client we agreed on 3 territories for concept development. The client selected my design that takes inspiration from Jersey’s ever-changing landscape and centres around the moon, which powerfully commands the Earth’s tides every day and allows the rum’s unique ingredients to be discovered at Jersey’s lowest tide. I developed the design through to final artwork with the creative director and production director. In 2022, the design was awarded a DBA Design Effectiveness Bronze Award based on the positive impact it had on the business in its first 2 years.
