44% of all bread in the UK is thrown away. Toast Ale aims to stop that. Perfectly good bread that hasn't sold is collected from bakeries at the end of each day and is used to brew this beer.
We created the name, brand, packaging and finished it with a bread tag. Since launching, tens of thousands of bottles have been sold and Toast is now stocked in Waitrose and Tesco. Due to the success of the original, Toast is now available as a lager, IPA and pale ale everywhere from New York to Cape Town. Shortlisted at Cannes.
