Anyone else had people trying to credit themselves on your projects even though they haven't worked on them??

I've just had to remove two people I've never heard of who have tried to get credited a project they never worked on. I take it I'm can't be the only one who's experienced this?

  • :D That is pretty sad.
I have only had minor issues, like someone asking for free editing and then never acknowledging receipt or saying thanks, and similar instances of sub-standard communication.
Collaboration is great, but people should make some effort at ordinary Ps&Qs, cause it's a small world.
  • I think I might have the answer for this. I signed up to here because a job ad on LinkedIn, which redirected me. I had absolutely no clue about The Dots and what it does. So, coming from Adobe I got bombarded with all sorts of Adobe campaigns and first not looking to closely, I thought it was just like the ones you think are cool. Okay, what do I do? Exactly that and then a few minutes later browsing around the site, I see do not be a spoiler and add work to the list that is not yours. There I am frantically removing all going oooopppsss!

I do not think everybody does it intentionally, some might just need a little time to get the hang of this.
  • I haven't had that on here but have on other platforms. I'd best give them all a once-over too now you've mentioned it.
  • Yes, I've had a few people do that. After checking them on Linkedin I've found a couple of people have worked at the companies I did the retouching for but from their CV had left either many years after I did the project or before! It's very odd.
  • @Kouadio Philippe-olivier Amany Bizarre, right. Not come across this before. I'm now checking through ALL of my previously uploaded projects, haha.
  • Only in art school, but there will always be other hunters who want good ideas, its a learning curve around protecting your work and it being strong enough to bear imitations, you are the original after all.
