Heron Books wanted to create a series of books aimed at eight to thirteen-year-olds that inspired and informed young readers on STEM subjects. I was responsible for the design and delivery of the Young Scientist Series, working with a small team to create visually impactful, educational materials that engage children to learn more about Science. In designing the book series, I paid close attention to layout, color, and imagery, using vibrant colors and illustrations that children could relate to. This resulted in a collection of books that made complicated science easy for a young audience to understand and was identified by the publisher as an opportunity for expansion into a new business area. Soon after publication, the company was able to expand its market to homeschoolers.
