Finding Vellichor is a unique brand that specializes in the restoration and modification of vintage furniture, as well as the creation of original, one-of-a-kind designs. The brand is built around the concept of "vellichor," the nostalgia and wistfulness that comes from the experience of handling old, vintage objects. FV’s mission is to revive the stories that each piece has to tell through careful restoration and creative modification wherever needed while preserving its unique history and character. Additionally, FV creates a small collection of unique, handmade objects that will be exclusively designed by them and produced by artisans in Greece. For the branding we decided it was important to challenge the typical vintage inspired design that we usually associate with that world, bridging the gap between the technical and the emotional side of the brand by using loud colour palettes, balanced by the more minimalistic approach to typography. The logo design is bold, inspired by past typographic styles and taking a modern form to make it more contemporary. Additionally, we created a unique monogram inspired by the Egyptian beetles, and the two letters fv. In terms of colours the Burnt Orange is the main is reflecting the greek sunset colours, bringing the elements of vintage ceramics and the feeling of nostalgia to life.The Ochra colour and the FV Cream are complimenting and supporting and act as an anchor for the FV Burnt Orange. From the brand identity through to the website and packaging design, we needed to create something that felt new and different to the existing “safer” approach that most competitors go for in the same space while creating an own-able identity.
