WeTransfer: Ideas Report

— THE CHALLENGE — WeTransfer, the file sharing platform used by over 42 million monthly users, wanted to spark a new kind of conversation around creativity, asking when, where, and how does creative inspiration strike. 75% of WeTransfer’s users identify as creatives and the company has long believed that creative thinking changes the world for the better (the platform donates 30% of its advertising space to showcase art, illustration, and music. WeTransfer is uniquely positioned to understand both the creative process and the value of great ideas. — TCO SOLUTION— We created The Ideas Report, an annual far-reaching international survey into creativity, featuring unexpected experts in creativity and crafted with TCO’s award-winning editorial, photography and design. To present the findings in an entirely original way, we wanted to bring out the connection between the data and creatives’ lives. So we created a set of ambitious all-human infographics – using hair, tattoos, tan lines, make-up and yoga poses – without any digital effects. The report focused on the source of creativity, and built on responses from over 10,000 creatives in 143 countries. To help creatives better understand how creativity and the brain works, we consulted experts, including Maryanne Wolf (Tufts University cognitive scientist), Pam Mueller (RAND researcher and Princeton-trained social psychologist), Lu Chen (Stanford University neuroscientist) and Dr Catherine Loveday ( cognitive neuroscience lecturer at the University of Westminster). — AT A GLANCE — - Survey of 10,000 creatives in 140 countries - Ground-breaking, all-human infographics - Animated Illustrated Portraits - New York media launch event - Activated across WeTransfer platforms and via PR See the final work here: https://wepresent.wetransfer.com/story/ideas-report-2018/#/
