4:3 Presents Janelle Monáe x Jenn Nkiru: AFROFREQUENCY
4:3 by Boiler Room unveiled the first wave of AFROFREQUENCY, a new season curated by JENN NKIRU aimed to shift the mainstream gaze of Afrofuturism and return it back to the source of it all: the frequency, the expression.
On 13th September, Janelle Monáe & JENN NKIRU met live in London for an intimate and relaxed evening which saw both women in-conversation exploring ideas of identity, womanhood, art, music and blackness.
The evening featured a screening of Monae’s emotion picture, DIRTY COMPUTER as well as meditation and poetry by Belinda Zhawi and DJ sets by Born N Bread and Bbz London. Hosted by Zezi Ifore.
