Squarespace and WePresent would like to announce their latest collaboration, a docu-series entitled, “Make It Real.” Featuring four woman-identifying Black Squarespace customers from the U.S. and the U.K., the videos highlight personal and professional stories that speak to the entrepreneurial spirit. Black women are the fastest growing segment of entrepreneurs and small business owners, particularly in the United States, forging paths for the new generation to follow and setting standards for the young business women of tomorrow in the process.

According to the 2018 State of Women-Owned Business Report, the number of businesses owned by women increased by 58% over the previous decade—and companies owned by Black women grew by a whopping 164%, outpacing their male counterparts. These entrepreneurs and small business owners are forging paths for the new generation to follow and setting standards for the young business women of tomorrow in the process.
Black women in the US are now the only racial group with more business ownership than their male counterparts, but despite positive steps there is still much work to be done on the road to equality. In this series we highlight four women - Holley Murchison, Jade Purple Brown, Sharmadean Reid and Liv Little - who are forging new paths for women in business.
