Nando's Website

Date January 2016
Role Lead UX/UI Designer

From their hot PERi-PERi sauce to the bright, buzzing restaurants; Nando’s is full of personality, flair and passion. The same can be said for their people and culture, but not their digital experience – previously an afterthought on their global website.
Having worked with the Nando’s team on campaigns for four years, I understood their need to translate the passion and excitement of a restaurant host into an online digital experience. After meeting branding agency Sunshine Gun, we found that digital executions were yet to be considered. I worked with Cello Signal, Nando’s digital agency to integrate a Sass pattern library that would be used by all future 3rd parties.
After I discovered that users were not available to apply online for certain roles, I wanted to create a solution that would solve a problem that stakeholders have faced for years. Users that arrived from overseas without computers couldn’t apply for certain roles. I scoped, planned and designed an award-winning concept which allows users to create a branded CV with the personality of Nando’s.
When searching for your next home, existing functionality online allows you to pinpoint where you want to live. The same should apply when you’re looking for your next job. I worked very closely with Amris, Nando’s application agency to create an innovative solution that has never been achieved before. From hand-drawn wireframes to hi-fidelity mockups, we tested the user journey repeatedly to make sure the experience was as efficient as possible.
